Why We Made Some of Our Favorite Bible Verses Into Signs

It doesn’t take long looking at The Metal Shack’s online store to find that we love reading the good book. While we understand and respect that not all of our clientele are Christians, or even religious at all, we hope our metal scripture wall art appeals to those who are. We offer metal wall art to everyone, regardless of belief and ideology, which is why we offer both inspirational quotes and Bible verse word art signs.

However, for both the believer and the non-believer alike, you might be wondering why we decided to use the verses that we have for our metal signs. The Bible isn’t exactly short of scripture verses, so it can be quite a daunting task choosing which ones to make into wall art.

In this blog post, we’re going to take a look at some of our favorite bible verse wall art products, and why we chose them. Whether you’re a fellow Christian who’s interested to know if we share common favorites, or somebody who’s not religious who’s simply curious to see why these messages move us, we hope you’ll feel some of the same inspiration we do when we read these passages.

Philippians 4:13

“I Can Do All Things in Christ, Who Strengthens Me”

For many Christians, the process of discovering their belief is also one of redemption. We’ve all sinned. Naturally, the severity of our mistakes differ from person to person, but nobody is perfect, and there are countless people who carry guilt for years over the mistakes they’ve made in life.

Regardless of what sect you follow (if you even follow one at all), one aspect of Christianity is uniform across all churches — that Christ died for our sins. There are many interpretations about the ramifications of this, but at a very fundamental level, it means that we don’t have to hold on to all the pain and suffering we harbor. We know that somebody took the fall for us so that we can grow and become better people, and that in itself is empowering.

This scripture states that we can “do all things” because of Christ, and the way we see it, it’s a way of expressing gratitude for the liberty we feel toward being forgiven on a divine level. It’s as if you can take on the whole world!

This is easily one of our most popular products, which is why it’s the only bible verse sign that we also offer in Spanish.

Proverbs 31:25

“She is clothed in strength and dignity, and she laughs without fear of the future.”

While we cut off the second portion of this verse because we thought it would make for a better looking metal sign, the message remains the same — “she is clothed in strength and dignity.”

This verse is moving to us, because we are in an age where women, young and mature, still face a tremendous amount of challenges. While women enjoy a greater amount of independence, equality and liberty now relative to any other point in history, there are still unique challenges they face, many of which have been exacerbated by the birth of the internet.

Women, far more so than men, are told repeatedly by the media and the world at large where their value lies. Objectification is rampant, and they are often expected to fall into whatever role the world expects of them, instead of choosing for themselves. Self-worth is a problem that many women across all ages struggle with, and that’s why we feel like Proverbs 31:25 is an important verse.

This is a reminder that every woman has incredible worth. She has strength. She has dignity, and she has no fear of the future. We love the empowering nature of this verse, how it encourages us not to fear what’s around us, but to embrace inner strength.

This is a popular product for independent women and adolescents alike, and we hope there are others who feel the same kind of inspiration when they read it.

Joshua 1:9

“Be strong and courageous, for the Lord God is with you.”

In many ways, this is similar to the verse above, but it applies to pretty much anyone and everyone. The meaning of this verse is simple, but powerful.

Whether you’re a believer in God or not, it’s hard to deny that it would be easier to brave the challenges in the life if you had some powerful guardian with you at all times. Surviving in the old world would have been easier if you had a massive lion at your side who could protect you against any danger. Survive the middle ages would have been easier if you had a mighty knight following you day and night, who would bravely stand against any opposition. Even today, a lot of people would probably feel more empowered if they had a stalwart friend or guardian cheering them on. The world has become less physically dangerous in most ways, but our psychological well-being is taxed more now than ever.

Regardless of your situation, this verse represents the idea that you do have a guardian with you. While he doesn’t walk by your side, he is there in spirit, and if you believe in the wondrous powers of God, it’s inspiring and motivating knowing that you’re capable of so much more.

Joshua 24:15

"As for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.”

Standing on its own, it’s not hard to deduce the basic meaning of this scripture — a message that you and your entire family are making a conscious decision to serve the Lord. A nice inspiring message that’s simple and to the point.

However, understanding the context of this particular bible verse lends it some particularly potent weight. In this chapter, Joshua, appointed leader of the Israelites, is delivering a powerful sermon to his people, admonishing them to serve the Lord.

In the context of this chapter, the Israelites had finally made their way into Canaan, known as the “promised land,” which was promised to them generations upon generations earlier before they were forced into Egyptian slavery. Through Moses, the Lord eventually freed his people and allowed them to witness miracle after miracle. Despite that, many of the Israelites forgot about the wonders they had seen and continued to rebel against God.

In Joshua 24, Joshua recounts the many ways that God has been there for them, and urges them to decide, then and there, who they will serve. “As for me and my house,” he says boldly, “we will serve the Lord.”

This scripture is powerful (and one of our best sellers) because it carries the context of not only serving the Lord, but remembering the role he has played in your life. Naturally, this Joshua 24:15 wall art is perfect for homes and families.
